Skytrax survey claimed to have given the format based on the business and tourist passengers in all cabin types trip (first class, business class, premium economy class and economy class regular). Skytrax has worked with more than 238 airlines and 148 airports around the globe.

The air travelers surveyed by phone, questionnaires and online about their experiences with the airline over the last ten months. The survey measures passenger satisfaction levels of more than 38 key indicators. Among other things, the service check-in, boarding, seating comfort on the plane, cabin cleanliness, food, beverages, in-flight entertainment and the staff. The survey in 2012 covering more than 200 flights from International airlines to domestic carriers.

Qatar Airways successfully achieved the first position for the second year in a row. The Garuda Indonesia is in the top eleven, under Malaysia Airlines. However, Garuda went on to become the best regional airlines worldwide.

On the other hand, according to canberratimes.com.au, official airline of Australia, Qantas, it was the first time thrown out of the top 10. Kangaroo logo of the airline down to 15th position from the Position of eight in 2011.
